We met on the river through mutual friends. Denton took us all for a boat ride, then we rode four wheelers all night. we talked and talked that day like we had known each other forever. Everything just felt natural and we could both be ourselves. For our first official date Denton picked me up on his Harley and we took the “river route” to the Mississippi River, which is about two hours one way. We ate lunch overlooking the river and got to know each other. I will never forget the sunburns we got either!
He had the ring for over a month before he got the nerve to ask my dad permission to marry me. He was going to do something special, but he was so relieved he came home and got down on one knee in our living room. We wanted something different for our wedding and wanted to have only close friends and family. You couldn’t ask for better scenery than the smoky mountains! We researched a lot about wedding packages in Gatlinburg. We wanted our wedding to be less complicated and New Beginnings seemed to fit what we were looking for. They also had amazing reviews (which they lived up to).
